The amount of people who search YouTube when they’re considering moving is staggering. It’s second only to Google.

That’s why Gary Vaynerchuk recommended all real estate agents focus on YouTube Shorts during a recent conversation with Ryan Serhant.

“I’m obsessed with it because it’s search.”

Why Real Estate Agents Should Focus on YouTube Search

People who know they are moving, especially those who are relocating for work, will start typing in all their questions to YouTube. Here’s just a sampling of what people search for when moving to a new town:

  • Parks
  • Country clubs
  • Restaurants
  • Shopping
  • Neighborhoods

(Disclaimer: Gary Vaynerchuk uses the example of talking about schools in this Reel. As always, follow all laws and the code of ethics to ensure you are not steering consumers in one direction or another.)

Be Smart About Titles

Whether you are producing long-form videos or Shorts for YouTube, a key component to being found on the platform is creating a searchable title and description.

For example, you can title a video “Top Parks in Newton, Massachusetts.” Then, as a real estate agent, discuss in detail the best parks and outdoor attractions in town, and you’ll start attracting views.

“That becomes the reason you get the lead.”
