We’re in NFL Week One, and it seems only right to share some football-related news, with a real estate twist. In this case, we’re celebrating a Hall-of-Famer who’s found a different use for the fancy footwork that made him a legend on the football field.
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is joining season 33 of Dancing with the Stars as a celebrity contestant.
And as his Instagram post shows, his DWTS dance partner is fan-favorite Witney Carson.
Another thing we couldn’t help noticing on Amendola’s IG was a post about a real estate project he undertook with architect Matt Garcia. The carousel post begins with an image of the two standing in front of a new modern luxury home in Westlake Hills, Texas.
From the caption:
“Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.
“Westlake Hills Texas offers a unique canvas of opportunity to create. @mattgarciadesign and I had this vision and it’s been an amazing journey to watch it come to life.
“May this be a beautiful space for someone to enjoy and call home.
“Big thanks to architect @mattgarciadesign and Waller Builder for making this come to life…”
Quick recap of Amendola’s football career

Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, had this to say when Amendola retired:
“Love Danny, he was a very good player for us — very smart, tough, dependable, great hands, concentration. Glad we had him here, and he certainly was a big contributor for us. We’ve been very fortunate to have some good players at that [inside receiver] position [and] Danny ranks high in that group.”
Amendola would not be the first professional athlete—or celebrity—to develop a passion for real estate. We’ve written here about a few others, including:
And let’s not forget the $6 million mansion purchased by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to give himself and girlfriend Taylor Swift a private and paparazzi-free living space.
