The title alone should bring up some feelings if you’ve been at this real estate thing long enough. And judging by the comments on this Instagram post from The Broke Agent, a lot of agents are sharing them.

Some are hilarious. Some sobering. And some get really, really dark.

We’re sharing a few examples here, because of course. And if you haven’t shared one of your “hardest truths” yet, there’s still time.

Which of These “Hardest Truths” Resonate with You?

Read on for a sampling of the different types of comments, all sharing whatever came to mind with the words “hardest truths about being a real estate agent.”

Some commenters admitted they were only there for the comments. They laughed, they cried, they commiserated. One of them said she was having second thoughts about going into real estate.

And honestly, that’s not surprising.

Quite a few commenters shared statistics on just how few agents succeed, how few actually sell homes, and how few of them are people they’d want to work with.

Several others pointed out how friends and family members chose to hire someone else as their agent when it came time to buy or sell a home.
