Last week, we were at BAM Mania in Las Vegas, and I walked away with a notebook full of ideas and a renewed sense of purpose for the rest of the year. From the powerhouse lineup of speakers to the insights shared, this event was a game-changer.
Here are my top three takeaways, which I want to share with you because I think any one of them can make a profound impact on your business.
Keep all three in mind as you’re creating a business plan for 2025.
Top 3 Takeaways from BAM Mania
#1: Small Talk Leads to Big Talk
Chelsea Peitz delivered an exceptional presentation, and one concept stood out for me: “Small talk leads to big talk.”
By “small talk,” Chelsea was referring to the seemingly inconsequential conversations we have in the DMs—chatting about a person’s dog, discussing kids, gyms, lunch spots. The thing is, those are all essential elements of relationship-building online.
It’s these interactions, which might seem trivial, that create deeper connections. Eventually, those “small talk” conversations turn into “big talk,” the type of meaningful dialogue that leads to sales, conversions, and long-lasting relationships.
Chelsea’s insight reframed the way I see these exchanges; they’re not fillers but stepping stones.
#2: Proof Over Promise
Sharran Srivatsaa, President of Real, gave an electrifying keynote. And the most memorable concept for me was “proof over promise.”
Sharran challenged the way we approach listing appointments and buyer consultations. Rather than just promising clients a great result, he suggested we show them the level of detail, thought, and care that goes into each step of the process.
One example Sharran shared was the “magic whiteboard,” which is essentially a visual mind map he uses to lay out his entire listing plan.
He takes a photo of himself in front of a whiteboard with the property’s address at the center, connected to a web of steps he takes to make the property’s launch a success. These steps include everything from organizing food and vendor lists to drafting phone scripts and contact lists for launch day.

#3: Share Personal Experiences on Your Wall
The third takeaway came from my friend Neel Dhingra, a top-tier lender and content creator. Neel discussed something that resonated deeply: the importance of sharing personal moments on our main social media feeds, not just in Stories.
Like many, I’m not one to share too much of my personal life on my wall. But after hearing Neel’s perspective, I’m feeling inspired to post more of it.
Neel shared examples of posting moments with his family—like taking his daughter to a Taylor Swift concert or documenting his experience at the Super Bowl last year. These posts weren’t just fun memories; they were touchpoints that helped him connect with his audience.
In Neel’s case, they even led to new business opportunities. His approach is a powerful reminder that people connect with people—not just services—and sharing personal experiences can open doors in unexpected ways.
I left BAM Mania energized and ready to apply these lessons for the last 70 or so days of 2024. And if you’re interested in leveling up your own business, I can’t recommend enough that you put BAM Mania 2025 on your calendar.
It’s a must-attend for anyone looking to grow in this industry.
