On day one of BAM Mania—aka the VIP mastermind—we took advantage of the lunch break to talk to VIPs about their takeaways up to that point. Byron Lazine, Luke Acree, Amy Stockberger, Sheila Reddy, and Tom Toole had just delivered their presentations.
After lunch, the group split into two masterminds: one led by Byron Lazine on agent tactics and the other led by The Broke Agent on marketing.
Reviews at half time were gratifying, and everyone here at BAM had a blast talking to everyone and learning what brought them to BAM Mania and what takeaways they were most excited to apply to their business.
Naturally, we had to share some of those takeaways. Here’s just a taste…

5 Biggest Takeaways from the BAM Mania VIP Session
These are some of the impressions captured during our conversations with our VIP attendees:
#1—Top Agents Continue to Learn
The caliber of the agents in the room is something that impressed Byron Lazine, among many others at the event. People who are already top operators in their markets are ready and eager to continue to expand their businesses. That much was clear from our conversations with them.
To have the opportunity to meet some of the most driven and service-oriented agents in the country is a priceless gift. These are people you want to have in your personal and professional circle. Because they inspire you to keep climbing.
We’re looking forward to meeting all our BAM Mania attendees today at the main event!
#2—Leverage the people already in your network.
An overlapping theme from each presenter was to keep in touch with everyone in your sphere—from vendors to clients—not just with a view to leverage those relationships but to create mutually beneficial ones.
Regarding clients, Sheila Reddy stressed the importance of delivering value post-closing and creating a “gold list” of “closed clients” to ensure they don’t become “lost clients.” If you’re not providing ongoing support, you lose the opportunity to earn their loyalty.
Loyal clients actively refer you to others and recommend your services. Because they know what they can expect from you goes far beyond average.
#3—Be authentic and focus on service over sales
Amy Stockberger emphasized that authenticity in service is key to building lasting client relationships. A “serve, serve, serve, sell” model fosters trust and repeat business.
An extension of this is Amy’s Real Estate Home Support team, which includes hundreds of local businesses who are now business partners, enabling Amy’s team to provide lifetime value to their clients while fostering mutually beneficial business relationships.
#4—Be intentional when reaching out to clients
Follow-up emails and texts can be part of this, but not as a replacement for talking face to face or over the phone. Tom Toole stressed the importance of knowing your numbers and maintaining consistent follow-ups, including video CMAs and personalized notes, to convert leads into listings effectively.
Related to this was another takeaway related to Amy Stockberger’s program for turning vendors into business partners to provide more value to clients while building a mutually beneficial relationship with local businesses.
Successful farming in real estate involves consistent outreach. Expect at least 12 months with no immediate return, and focus on geographic, demographic, or predictive farming methods to build brand awareness.
#5—Communicate on a deeper level
The agent who communicates on a deeper level is the agent who stands out—and who earns the trust needed to ask questions that go to the heart of their client’s motivation.
Track all showings and negotiations meticulously. Provide clients with a clear game plan for what happens once a contract is accepted and educate them on their options to exit contracts.
Agents should also track market trends, understand supply and demand, and present data engagingly to help consumers make informed decisions and become the trusted expert in their market. Byron Lazine’s comprehensive and engaging delivery of housing market and economy updates on the daily Hot Sheet is a prime example, as were all the speakers for today’s VIP gathering.
