Season One of Owning Manhattan was a hit, so we’re not shocked to learn Season Two is on its way to Netflix. And naturally, we’re curious to find out what happens after the big news reveal in the first season finale.

From what Ryan Serhant is saying, it sounds 100% binge-worthy. Stock up on popcorn. Here’s just a taste of what we’re in for, courtesy of the man himself:

I’m giving everyone a heads up to invest in a couch with a seatbelt. Turbulence is coming.

That intense finale, with Serhant being offered the opportunity to sell an entire building of units valued at over $300 million, is now ground zero for the new season.

Remember how you felt in the last few minutes of the surprise Season 1 finale? That’s what you’ll feel for the entirety of Season 2.

Serhant also describes the new season as “all out real estate warfare,” hence the seatbelt sofa.

Season One Build-up

If you haven’t binged the first season of Owning Manhattan, we’re not judging. There’s still time. And if you’re at least curious about Serhant’s gentle warning (same), you owe it to yourself to at least take a peek before the new season launches.

Asked about the hearty response to Season One, Serhant said the following to Tudum

To be honest, it’s overwhelming. Expectations were so high for the fans, and I knew we were going to give them something unexpected. Owning Manhattan is so original, and unlike any other show on the air, and to see people fall in love with it on such a global scale is so insane.

Since Owning Manhattan wrapped up its first eight episodes, SERHANT. has grown to nearly 700 agents in eight states. And as we reported earlier this week, one of those agents is our very own Walk Thru co-host Dan O’neil

It’s a great day for us to be able to call Dan our newest partner and to welcome The Onset to SERHANT. I first met Dan at one of our earliest SellIt Mastermind events, and he made a lasting impression – it’s a full circle moment for him and his team to join SERHANT.

With everything going on in the industry right now, Owning Manhattan feels less like a soap opera in a brokerage setting than a unique and entertaining perspective on the high-stakes New York real estate market—with relatable characters, including Serhant, leading the charge.

It’s aspirational TV. It’s real estate theater. And it’s the reason Serhant sees a dramatic difference in his life ‘before and after’ Netflix, as he describes it in a recent HousingWire interview.

My life is now definitely ‘before and after’ Netflix. I have never experienced the lead flow, the brand awareness, the fans on the street that I’ve experienced in the last two months. I’m in SoHo right now at my office and I am looking outside my window. To the left, there’s a couple taking a photo of our building. To the right, there’s tourists taking one big family selfie of themselves in front of a building. It’s been all day, every day since the beginning of July.

As a producer of this one and being so prominently featured, it’s like a baby of mine. It’s my creative direction, my agents, all my properties, my company, my building, my base. Like, if it bombed, it was going to be “Ryan bombs,” you know, and so to see it be so critically acclaimed, it’s just like … that was a good day. I wrote it in my journal. Like, don’t ever forget this day. You’re going to have bad days going forward, but just remember that this day did happen.
