Here’s how to make sure your content is discoverable. From there, stopping the scroll is up to you. 

1. Visuals Matter More Than You Think

Instagram scans the actual images and video frames you post. That means:

  • Use on-screen text with relevant keywords (e.g. “Phoenix Luxury Home Tour”).
  • Avoid overly abstract visuals—make it clear what your post is about.
  • Use consistent visual branding to signal your niche (think: font, colors, topics).

Don’t forget your carousel covers. Instagram scans the first frame of each post, and so does your audience.

2. Captions = Keyword Gold

The algorithm reads your captions to understand what the post is about and who should see it.

  • Use 3–5 well-researched keywords in your caption (organically, not keyword stuffing).
  • Write naturally for humans, but include strategic signals for the algorithm.

  • Place hashtags in the caption, not the comments. The algorithm scans captions first.
