This week, my face is on four billboards across the Las Vegas Strip promoting Zillow Showcase during Zillow’s Unlock conference.

And it’s been surreal. 

Driving down the boulevard, seeing those billboards (especially in the same city where I went to law school), it’s hard not to reflect on what got us here.

Ironically, in one of the ads, I’m playing a lawyer. The full-circle moment wasn’t lost on me. But this isn’t about luck. It’s about what I believe we’ve done over the last eight years of selling real estate that led to this moment.

1. Consistency Isn’t a Buzzword

Let’s start with what most people don’t want to hear: consistency.

It’s not a catchphrase, it’s a mindset that applies to everything you do. Whether it’s social media marketing, direct mail, prospecting, client experiences, or being a shark on the phone, consistency requires showing up even when it’s not easy.

For me, that means five to seven days a week. I know that sounds overwhelming, but that level of commitment is what put me on a billboard this week.

When I first started creating digital content, it wasn’t every day. It began with one video a week until that muscle was unshakable. If you’re just getting started, don’t compare your day one to my year eight. Commit to your pace, and be relentless.

2. Find Joy in the Repetition

This is the secret that keeps you sane.

Selling homes, making calls, or creating content is often a thankless sport. You don’t always see immediate results. So if you don’t find joy in the process, it’s nearly impossible to keep showing up.

When I began building my personal brand, it took years before people started to notice. I was tagging people, posting daily, and often hearing nothing back. But I genuinely enjoyed the process; that’s what kept me going through the silence.

Now, we average around $13 million a year in agent-to-agent referrals, and we’ve landed partnerships like Zillow Showcase. But I know for a fact: without finding joy in the work, none of that would’ve happened.

3. Tune Out the Noise

Here’s the truth: people are going to talk, whether you show up or not.

The haters will hate regardless. The cheerleaders will cheer regardless.

So do what makes you happy. Post the content. Take the meeting. Keep showing up. Don’t let anyone else’s opinion dictate your output.

And when you start winning, when your videos take off, when clients roll in, or when you’re on four billboards, stay grounded. Remember why you started.

We’re in this business to serve people. Let the haters hate. Let the winners win. Keep serving.

4. Every Post Is a Brick in the Wall

Every video, carousel, or post you create is a brick in your business.

Missing one day doesn’t destroy the foundation. But when you zoom out and look at the whole structure, years of posts, videos, emails, events, that’s when you see what you’ve built.

Those small, individual efforts stack into something monumental. That’s the 30,000-foot view of consistency.

It’s not about one viral video. It’s about the library you’ve built through steady, disciplined work.

The Billboard Moment

Standing in Las Vegas, seeing those billboards, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.

It’s a surreal reminder of what eight years of showing up, through silence, joy, and consistency, can lead to.

We all have different versions of success, but I truly believe this: if you stay committed to your craft, whatever it is, your version of the billboard moment is coming.

So keep showing up. Do it regularly. Find joy in the process.
