Want to know what the best camera you can buy for under $1,000 is?

I’ve been using an Insta360 camera for years. But what I’m using now is called the Insta360 One RS. It goes for a little bit less than $1,000, and it is one of the best tools outside of an iPhone.

At the risk of sounding like a commercial, this model delivers high quality professional looking footage, and it allows you to create those really cool 360 video home tours with no help at all.

Watch the video above to see what I mean.

A few things I love about this camera

First, let’s talk about the monitor. It allows me to frame myself in front of the house with nobody assisting me.

Second is the “magic wand.” This stick is somehow turned invisible when you start shooting, and it allows you to get the same perspective as a drone for way, way, way less money.

Another thing I love about this camera is how quickly it allows me to shoot an entire house. Because a 360 camera has one camera on the front and another camera on the back, I can literally walk through a 3,000 square foot house and video record the whole thing in under two minutes. It’s a huge time saver, and it’s completely dummy proof.

Third, this camera is what I’m using for my Matterport home tours. Yes, I use it for my fancy video walkthroughs—which really aren’t that fancy. But it’s the same camera I’m using for my Matterport tour that’s distributed on the MLS, Zillow, and everywhere else that you can find my listings. It’s my go-to camera for filming home tours videos people love to watch.

Do you need it? No. Is it worth the investment? 100% YES!

I’m the last one to tell you guys that you have to invest in professional equipment. And the iPhone is a device that we are using every single day. But if you’re looking to invest a little bit into your video production, the Insta360 is something I think is worth springing for.

Once you get it, if you feel like you hit some roadblocks when it comes to editing the 360 video, shoot me a DM or send me an email. I’d love to connect you with some people that could help you clean it up.
