Today, Zillow announced a new integration with RealScout. Starting later this year, Zillow Preview listings will be available on RealScout, putting pre-MLS listings inside the same agent-client search experience more than 100,000 agents already use together.

For Zillow users, pre-market exposure has mostly lived on Zillow and Trulia. This new integration moves it into the tool agents and buyers use to shop side by side, without the buyer needing to switch platforms (or relationships) to see it

Here’s what the Zillow-RealScout integration does, what both parties have to say about it, and what it means for you and your clients.

How the Integration Works

Zillow Preview listings will appear inside RealScout, the co-shopping platform that serves more than 100,000 agents across hundreds of U.S. markets.

A few things to know about how it will work:

  • Preview listings appear inside RealScout’s existing agent-client search and collaboration experience. No separate app or feed for buyers to check.
  • Listings carry a clear Preview label for agents at brokerages that have opted in.
  • Once a home’s preview period ends and it goes active on the MLS, the RealScout listing gets replaced with the live MLS listing.
  • Zillow Preview is already live for agents at more than 400 brokerages. It will also expand to Realtor.com, alongside Zillow and Trulia.

Errol Samuelson, Zillow’s Chief Industry Development Officer, described the update as an extension of the idea behind Zillow Preview from the start: giving agents more to show their buyers.

“More exposure creates more opportunity for sellers, and agents should be able to show their buyers the full picture of what’s available. By bringing Zillow Preview listings into RealScout, we’re extending that transparency into an environment where agents and buyers are already working together. That’s good for sellers, good for buyers and good for agents.”

For buyers, that means seeing homes that fit their search before those homes list on the MLS, through the agent they already work with.

No new account to set up, and no reason to check a different site for early listings.

Why Zillow and RealScout Are Betting on Pre-Market Exposure

Zillow’s own research backs up why sellers respond well to broader exposure before a listing goes live.

Two numbers stand out:

  • 85% of soon-to-be sellers say they’d be more likely to hire an agent who can pre-market their home to the widest possible online audience.
  • 81% of Americans say a bidding war is more likely when more shoppers can view a listing.

For agents, the payoff shows up during the preview window itself. While a listing is in preview, it generates buyer signals before the home ever reaches the MLS:

  • Views
  • Saves
  • Shares
  • Direct contacts from interested buyers

Agents can bring that data back to the seller in real time, showing them how buyers are responding before the listing goes active.

Andrew Flachner, co-founder and CEO of RealScout, put the reasoning this way:

“Seller choice and buyer access shouldn’t be at odds. Sellers should be able to choose how they bring a home to market. Buyers shouldn’t have to switch agents or brokerages just to discover it. Bringing Zillow Preview to RealScout helps deliver both.”

The integration builds on an existing partnership between the two companies. RealScout is already one of the most used integrations for Follow Up Boss, connecting a buyer’s search activity in RealScout to the follow-up workflows agents run there.

Flachner pointed to that history as one reason the Preview integration made sense now:

“Agents win when their clients trust that searching with them means having access to the broadest set of listings. RealScout has been part of agents’ daily workflows for years and through our integration with Follow Up Boss, we’re already woven into how they manage buyers and follow up on every lead. Bringing Zillow Preview listings into that same experience is the next natural step, and it’s one our agents have been asking for since the offering launched this spring.”

What This Means for Agents

If you’re on RealScout, this changes what you can show buyers without sending them anywhere else. Preview listings will appear inside the same workspace you already use with your clients, so an early look at a home won’t require a separate search on Zillow or Trulia.

A few practical things to keep in mind:

  • You get a new data point for seller conversations: real buyer engagement (views, saves, contacts) collected before the home goes active on the MLS.
  • Your buyer clients get earlier access to homes that fit their search, through you, with no reason to look elsewhere for pre-market listings.
  • If your brokerage hasn’t opted into Zillow Preview, the RealScout rollout and the coming Realtor.com expansion give you two more reasons to raise it now.

Brokerages that want to learn more about Zillow Preview can start at zillow.com/pro/preview

The RealScout integration is set to roll out later this year, alongside the Realtor.com expansion, so agents already on RealScout have a good window to get ready for both.
