  • Zillow has entered into an agreement to acquire Follow Up Boss, an industry-leading customer relationship management tool (CRM) for real estate agents. 
  • Follow Up Boss will remain an independent brand and continue to support existing third-party integration partners. Zillow will also support its third-party CRM integrations to preserve Premier Agents’ ability to use their CRM of choice. 

After yesterday’s verdict shook up the industry, here’s further proof that Zillow is one of the winners of the Sitzer/Burnett trial. 

This morning, Zillow Group announced its newest acquisition: Follow Up Boss (FUB), a leading customer relationship management tool for real estate agents. This comes as Zillow continues to work toward a real estate super app. 

The purchase price for this acquisition includes “$400 million of initial cash consideration and up to $100 million in a potential cash earnout.” 

Zillow Acquires Follow Up Boss

Zillow has entered into an agreement with Follow Up Boss to acquire the company, calling it “the best CRM for agents and teams in the industry,” 

Current users of Follow Up Boss received an email this morning with the news, which stated, “We’re reaching out to make sure you’re among the first to know that we’ve entered an agreement to be acquired by Zillow Group, giving us access to more resources, people, and technology to ensure that Follow Up Boss remains the best CRM on the market for years to come.” 

Included in the email was a link to a Q&A with Dan Corkill, FUB’s Co-Founder and CEO. 

FUB will continue to grow its client base while serving all existing clients, whether or not they engage with other Zillow Group platforms.

Important notes regarding the Zillow-FUB acquisition:

  • Follow Up Boss will continue as a standalone product offering with its own independent brand. 
  • Follow Up Boss will also continue supporting its vast network of third-party integration partners, preserving agents’ ability to keep using their preferred systems and supporting tools seamlessly.
  • Zillow Group will also keep supporting third-party CRM integrations on its Zillow Premier Agent app, giving users the option of working with the CRM of their choice and to avoid redundant data entry.
  • Security and user data privacy are a top priority for both Zillow Group and Follow Up Boss. Both companies have robust systems in place to secure user data. The data that real estate professionals enter into the system is theirs (as it has always been) and will remain within Follow Up Boss. 
  • With that in mind, Follow Up Boss will work with a third-party validator to ensure user data remains safe and protected under FUB’s terms of use and privacy policy.
