School’s out, routines are out the window, and the real estate market isn’t exactly heating up.
Summer brings a different kind of busy for me, with long days, unpredictable schedules, and a market where many agents ease off the gas. Between last-minute showings, client calls, and life with kids at home, it’s a lot to juggle.
But the truth is: no successful agent has a perfectly balanced schedule, especially a parent in the summer. While others slow down, I’m focused on staying consistent, showing up daily, and laying the groundwork for a strong finish to the year.
Here’s how I’m navigating the chaos, keeping momentum in my business, and making sure nothing important gets left behind.
Prioritizing Appointments
No matter how crazy life feels, being in front of potential buyers and sellers is non-negotiable. This business lives and dies by conversations.
Here’s how I’m staying on top of it:
- Double down on conversations: I’m focused on lead calls, geo farm calls, and targeted seller campaigns. And I’ll make more calls than usual, knowing conversion rates may dip in a slower market and activity keeps my pipeline full.
- Time-block call blocks: I assign specific groups to each block, whether it’s circle prospecting or seller campaigns, so I’m always clear on my target for the day.
- Track metrics weekly: I monitor how many calls, conversations, and appointments I book so I stay accountable and adjust quickly if the numbers slip.
Systematizing Social Media
Social media is a marketing powerhouse, but over the past year, life and transactions pulled me away from it a bit. I’m done letting that slide. I’m back to creating a system I can stick to, and it’s already paying off.
Here’s what I’m doing:
- Plan content a month ahead: I use a simple Google Sheet to map out 3–4 posts per week, leaving a buffer for listing videos or last-minute updates.
- Batch shoot and edit: I dedicate specific days to film and create content in bulk so I’m not scrambling week to week.
- Stay flexible but consistent: I aim for consistency over perfection—if I miss a post or two, the system ensures I still show up with value-driven content every week.
Nurturing My Sphere
The summer slowdown isn’t an excuse to let relationships slip. In fact, it’s the perfect time to double down on nurturing my sphere and showing up as the go-to person for all their real estate needs.
Here’s how I’m making it happen:
- Call clients and SOI: I’m checking in by phone, offering market insights or just saying hello, keeping me top-of-mind as their trusted resource.
- Send value-packed emails: My weekly emails include helpful tips, market updates, and local resources. Never just listings because relationships are built on a lot more than that.
- Deliver exclusive content: My VIP newsletter is tailored for my top clients and referral partners, with deeper insights and special offers to make them feel part of an inner circle.
The Bottom Line
Summer isn’t easy, it’s unpredictable, exhausting, and full of competing priorities. But it’s also an opportunity.
While most people ease up, I’m choosing to lean in. Not perfectly, not without challenges, but with intention, consistency, and a long game in mind.
Because the agents who thrive aren’t the ones with the lightest schedules or the perfect circumstances.
They’re the ones who keep showing up. Especially when it’s hard.
