15 Hyperlocal Questions Real Estate Agents Can Post to Get More Comments

Nobody wants to hear about mortgage rates on a Tuesday (unless those rates are plummeting).
Everybody wants to argue about the best taco spot in town.
A market update asks people to react to information. A hyperlocal question asks people to say something about their own neighborhood, or their own opinion on the mom-and-pop burger joint down the road with the perfectly-seasoned fries.
People love to share their opinions about things that matter to them. And what’s going on in their neighborhood is more likely to flip that switch than a slight dip in mortgage rates.
Below are fifteen questions built to get people talking about their own city. Steal them this week.
Questions About The Viewer’s Story
These questions invite the viewer to comment about why they live where they live. Folks who love their neighborhood are happy to brag about what makes it special.
A question like this asks for a personal story, and nothing else. People enjoy telling their own story, and a comment section built around personal stories fills up without much prompting from the agent.
Local Pride and Debate Questions
These questions invite the commenter to defend an opinion, which pulls in replies from people who disagree.
A question like this gets the most replies when there’s no single right answer. Disagreement is what keeps a comment thread going.
Think about any unpopular opinions you might have about local attractions, especially those that get a lot of hype, as well as those that don’t get nearly enough attention.
Would-You-Rather Local Questions
Forced-choice questions take less effort to answer than open-ended ones, and that’s why they pull in more comments.
A two-second answer counts as a comment. Open-ended questions ask for more effort, and fewer people give it.
Local News and Development Questions
These questions come from real local news, things like a new development or a road project everyone has an opinion on:
Local news often comes with an opinion built in. The only work left is asking for it.
Say It, Overlay It, Caption It
Pick one question from this list and run it three ways in the same reel. Say it on camera, then add a text overlay for anyone scrolling on silent.
Put the same line in the caption, since that’s the last thing someone reads before deciding whether to comment.
Run one of these this week. If you want a faster way to turn what’s happening in your market into a question like these, our new Hyperlocal AI Content tool collects hyperlocal post ideas from your chosen market and turns them into a menu of content ideas, complete with CTAs that get people commenting. The tool is available in BAMx and has already become a favorite.
