A new show is coming to the BAM Podcast lineup.
The Porch Swing Podcast is a new monthly show hosted by Justin Benson, Lindsay Fricks, and George Laughton. Each episode brings the three hosts together with a new guest for an honest, unscripted conversation about business, real estate, personal growth, and the decisions that shape a career.
It’s part strategy session, part front-porch conversation, and it’s built for real estate professionals and entrepreneurs who want more than surface-level talking points.
The goal is simple: create space for the kinds of candid conversations that rarely happen on a stage, inside a training session, or between carefully rehearsed sound bites.
For the debut episode, Justin, Lindsay, and George welcomed one of the most recognizable coaches in real estate: Tom Ferry.
Key Takeaways From Episode One
Tom Ferry has spent decades coaching real estate professionals and studying what separates top performers from everyone else. In this conversation, he goes beyond scripts, lead generation, and sales strategies.
Over the course of the hour-plus episode, Tom opens up about his career, family, health, fear, ambition, artificial intelligence, and the personal choices required to keep growing.
Here are five of the biggest takeaways from the first episode.
#1: Protect your mind like an athlete protects their body.
Tom treats brain health with the same discipline as physical training, using routines like oxygen chamber sessions and exosome treatments to recover from old concussions.
#2: Growth means releasing habits and relationships that no longer fit where you’re headed.
As Tom frames it, climbing toward what you want means letting go of routines and people from an earlier stage of the journey.
#3: Practice zero attachment to results.
Tom returns to this idea more than once when talking about ambition and expectation. A poem by T.S. Eliot and James Carrey’s commencement speech came into the conversation, both to drive home the importance of letting go of the outcome.
#4: Every agent needs an (AI) agent.
Tom predicts agentic AI will handle much of the repetitive work in a real estate transaction. He points out that of the 179 tasks it takes to list, sell, and close a home, only 64 require a human being.
#5: Everyone has more left in the tank than they think they do.
Tom brought up Dave Goggins and the 40% rule: the idea that people only use 40% of their true physical and mental capacity. So, his agenda is to help people tap into the 60% they don’t use.
