The beauty of TikTok is that pretty much anyone can go viral for anything.

While the likelihood of a video going viral may seem random, plenty of people analyze the algorithm to find what’s trending and how you can make your content stand out on a saturated platform.

Here are seven TikTok tips to up your chances of going viral, based on findings from Hubspot

Stitch Top-Performing Or Relevant Videos

Stitching is used on TikTok for a variety of reasons. People stitch to make fun of each other, update followers on a developing story, or explain things. Stitching can also be used to get the initial attention of your audience like @thebrokeagent did here:

As an agent, find top-performing videos on the real estate side of TikTok and create a stitch to answer a question, give inside information on what real estate is really like, or dispel a real estate stereotype.

You can even stitch trending videos that aren’t related to real estate. Simply put your spin on the video to potentially draw in a new audience.

A final tip with stitching is to entice others to stitch your videos. You can do this by asking a question people are eager to answer. @zacharyloft is a pro at this:

Utilize Trending Sounds

According to TikTok, 88% of users say sound is essential to the TikTok experience. Trending sounds present a great opportunity when you feel like you are in a content rut. Check out our most recent content blog to stay updated on trending sounds for real estate agents.

The Green Screen Effect

TikTok’s green screen effect has remained one of the most popular visual effects since the app rose to popularity. It allows users to remain visible on screen while featuring different images in the background.

As an agent, you can use the green screen effect to give a market update or a guided virtual tour of a new listing. The possibilities with this one are endless.

Vlog-style videos are popular on TikTok because they feel personal and intimate. Typically, these videos tie together multiple clips with a voiceover or music as a series of events unfold.

Engage your followers by going through a day in the life as a real estate agent in your town! Here’s one from @bridgettemhdz:

Reply With Video

Oftentimes, TikTok users want more details or a “storytime” that further explains the premise of a video. You can use video to reply to comments, answer questions, or provide further explanations about something you’ve posted.

@glenndabaker is the queen of storytime videos:

Post “How-to” Content

How-to videos are a great way to provide value to your audience and generate organic growth. When people feel like they will continue to learn about real estate by following you, you’ll see an uptick in followers and engagement.

It can be as simple as telling the story of how you got your real estate license, like this one from @vay.namae

Add Subtitles and Text

You should use subtitles and text on every platform where you post short-form video. Not only does this help boost your TikTok SEO, but it helps you reach a wider audience.  Many people scroll through social media on mute, allowing you to reach a wider audience.

TikTok has a Captions tool that autogenerates captions, making it easy to add captions. You can also add in keywords using text and graphics in eye-catching colors and font, as @byronlazine does here:
