The Danger of AI Content: A Warning To Agents

Disclaimer: This is NOT an anti-AI blog. This is not me saying you shouldn’t use AI to help create content. That would be irresponsible and ridiculous considering how insanely helpful it is. I use it all the time (including to help me edit this blog). This is simply a warning to the people and agents who type in a prompt and post whatever comes out.

The second you detect that a post, email, or text response is 100% AI-generated, you tune out. You almost feel offended by it.

I saw someone say that full-blown AI content actually creates DISTANCE instead of building your personal brand. I completely agree.

You can tell in the scripts and the cadence. Sentences starting with “And.” The overuse of emojis. The choppy rhythm. The weirdly polished wording that somehow says absolutely nothing.

You can REALLY tell in video scripts because they’re completely lifeless. It’s turning people into content robots who take a breaking hyperlocal news story, throw it into ChatGPT, and spit it back out with zero opinion or personality of their own. 

Why 100% AI Content Backfires

To be fair, I probably should’ve been more clear that I’m talking about strictly AI-generated content with no human addition whatsoever.

My point was and is that flooding the zone with 100% AI content will have the exact opposite effect you want.

As Taylor King said, it’s about connection, not content.

The Real Warning

Think about it, you pop up on someone’s feed, they read it, and immediately think, “Great, this agent clearly just plugged ‘Give me a video script about why you should list in May’ into ChatGPT.’ It’s like the boring brokerage template posts that we’ve been ragging on for a decade except with a little less innocence to it. A year ago, this stuff could kind of go undetected because people weren’t as familiar with it. Now people are starting to recognize it. 

Again, this is NOT an anti-AI blog. It’s just a warning to content creators that content for the sake of content, just to check a box, will not work today. Also, now that everyone is using ChatGPT or Claude, it’s easy to become too reliant on it to the point where you lose your ability to think, write, and form opinions for yourself.

Me included, by the way. I’ve found myself having more difficulty coming up with captions or titles or post ideas that FEEL like me.

Sometimes I mail it in with a caption and immediately think to myself, “This just sucked the life out of this post. What am I doing?”

Moral of the story: think before you post.

If not, that’s where the danger is.
