If you follow the BAM account or The Walk Thru, you already know I’ve been preaching one thing nonstop: mix it up.

Yes, Reels are the best way to grow, but sometimes your best engagement will come from the simplest posts. I’m talking about text-based, quick-hitting content that sparks conversation.

I’ve been doing this on the Broke Agent account for ten years. Constantly switching my content back and forth between memes (photos), Reels, and screenshots of text.

I like to use X as a place to get out my thoughts. It also looks clean and keeps my branding. From there, I post it to IG or Facebook.

We also do this on our BAM account.

This sort of content is easy to read, and easy to understand. Also, it feels more spur-of-the-moment and organic, like you just had a thought.

Make it Hyper-Local

For real estate agents, you can use this format for your takes on the local market:

  1. Quick observations on your market
  2. Local hot takes
  3. Community rants
  4. Stuff that only other people in your hometown would get. The inside jokes.

What’s a hidden gem that only you know about? What’s a contrarian opinion you have on a restaurant everyone loves (or hates)? What’s your favorite part about your city in the summer?

BAMx member Grigory Pekarsky has been doing this on his page recently, and it’s been a great pattern interrupt from his usual content. This one took ten seconds.

See how simple that is? Just a quick observation, posted to X, then screenshotted and posted to IG.

No script, no video editing, no pressure.

Add Trending Audio

The key ingredient, of course, is audio. Make sure you match the mood of your post and give it that extra flavor.

By the way, if you don’t use X or don’t want to go through the process of screenshotting a post and formatting it, we have these text-based templates for you in our BAMx community. We also have super simple news headlines that you can use for your hyper-local content.
