That’s right, the summer slowdown is officially behind us after Labor Day, so there are no excuses not to crush your content this month.
Here are some content ideas to help you fill out your calendar and stay consistent.
September 1: Labor Day
If you are reading this the day before or on Labor Day, good news. I wrote a whole blog on last-minute Labor Day content ideas. You can get them here.
All Month: Football Content
Labor Day Weekend kicks off college football, and the NFL season starts Thursday, September 5th. Whether you care or not, America doe, and it’s an easy, fun way to make local, engaging content.
Here are some ways to tie it in:
1. Tailgate Traditions
Share what you do on game day, the best bars or restaurants to watch, or secret spots only locals know.

2. Rep Your College
Use college football as an excuse to talk about your alma mater, how it shaped you, and if it contributed at all to you getting into real estate. Even if you don’t relate it at all to real estate, it’s always good to let people know more about your personal life so they can relate to you. This is as simple as repping a jersey or hat in your content. You’d be surprised how many people comment about USC because I have a pennant in the back of my studio. Most people hate me for it, but still, it’s another talking point.

3. Neighborhoods for Students & Post-Grads
Highlight the best areas in your market for college students, recent grads, or young professionals.
4. Share Your Rivalries
Polarization equals engagement. Talk about the teams you love and the ones you can’t stand.
5. Football at Open Houses
If it makes sense, promote that games will be on during your open houses. It’s as simple as putting in your caption, “yes, I’ll have the game on…” if your community cares.
6. Predict Your Team’s Record
People love prediction content. So put your team’s schedule in the background of a green screen and go game by game. It will get the comments going!
September 5: International Day of Charity
This is an ideal time to create content around your favorite charities and why you support them. A few ideas:
- Carousel or Reel: “3 Local Charities That Make a Difference in [City]” — highlight one nonprofit per slide.
- Video Interview: Feature a founder, director, or volunteer and post a short-form clip.
- Blog or Newsletter Feature: Write about “Where Your Donation Stays Local.”
Other ways to highlight charities:
- Behind-the-Scenes Volunteering
- Document a day in the life of you or your team volunteering.
- Create a before-and-after Reel showing a project like cleaning a park, painting a community center, or organizing a food drive.
September 18: National Cheeseburger Day
Yes, it’s a thing, and yes, you can create content around it.
- Local Burger Guide: Create a carousel of the “Top 5 Cheeseburgers in [City].”
- Do a news-style headline post… but YOU are the source: () Named Best Burger Spot In (Insert Home Town) :
Through September 22: Virgo Season Content
This was my Virgo wife’s idea, by the way…
Virgo season runs from August 23rd to September 22nd. Virgo energy is all about details, organization, and perfectionism.
Here are some angles you can use:
- Attention to Detail: Post about the “little details buyers actually notice,” like clean grout, fresh paint, or well-staged bookshelves.
Caption idea: “Virgo season reminds us that details matter. Yes, buyers will 100 percent notice that scuffed baseboard.” - Organization in Transactions: Carousel idea: “The Virgo Way: How to Keep Your Home Sale Organized from Start to Finish” — break it down into checklists or timelines.
- Practical Advice: Skip the fluff and give straight, data-driven market updates.
Example: “Virgo energy means cutting the noise and looking at the numbers. Here’s what is really happening in the housing market this week.”
Hook ideas for Virgo season:
- “If you’re a Virgo, you’ll love this house.”
- “Only watch this video if you’re a Virgo” – then proceed to list why a Virgo would love a property
September 22: Official Start of Fall
This is a natural hook to talk about why fall is a great time to sell:
- The weather is ideal for showings
- Kids are back in school, so schedules are easier
- Sellers can get ahead of the busy holiday season
