For every holiday, your goal should be to post content that provides value with new or helpful information.
If you’re not doing that, then share something personal: your traditions, family, what you’re doing, how you’re celebrating.
The goal is NOT to post a generic template that says, “Have a great Labor Day weekend!” That didn’t work in 2015, and it doesn’t even come close to working in 2025. I’ll keep saying this every holiday until I see agents stop posting this trash!
Before we dive into the Labor Day content ideas, think hyper-local. Because that’s what wins. Put yourself in the shoes of the consumer. We know YOU will be showing houses…but what are people in your market doing this weekend? Coming up with themes can also help you brainstorm content.
LDW Themes: People are going on vacation, coming back from vacation, grilling, watching college football, hanging out outdoors, sweating, heat, downtime, drinking, partying, blacking out, sitting in traffic, eating, going to parades/events, etc…
Labor Day Weekend Content Ideas
1. If there is any news in your community or a restaurant/bar doing something special for LDW, break it down green-screen style or with a news headline post. The great thing about news headline posts is that you can use them for anything from a drop in mortgage rates to a new business opening!

2. Real estate spin: Have a listing that just recently reduced its price? Instead of posting “Price Decreased” and a photo of the house, call it a “LDW Sale.” That will probably get more engagement and hook people in because it’s CHEEKY.
3. Top 5 Labor Day Events in [City]: Round up the biggest happenings in your area. Think parades, concerts, food festivals, and fireworks. Include the dates and one quick tip for each event, like where to park, how early to arrive, or the best place to watch.
4. Best Spots to Grill & Chill in [City]: Highlight local parks with BBQ pits, rooftop patios, brewery backyards, and lakefront hangouts. Break them down into family-friendly spots and nightlife favorites so people can pick their vibe for the weekend.
5. Best Butcher Shops & Markets for Your Labor Day Cookout: Support local small businesses by pointing your audience toward the best butcher shops, markets, and farmers’ markets in town. This adds value and increases your chances of being reshared by the businesses you tag.
6. Labor Day Weekend Survival Kit in [City]: Help your audience prepare like a pro. Include:
-
- Weather outlook for the weekend
- Events
- Food spots
- Traffic and parking tips for popular highways, beaches, or event areas
- A packing checklist (chairs, cooler, sunscreen, chargers, umbrellas)

7. IG Poll: What’s the Ultimate Labor Day Food in [City]? Engage your audience with a quick poll. Make it hyper-local by including regional favorites.
8. How My Clients Are Celebrating Labor Day in [City]: This could be a good storytelling opportunity. Share a client photo of their new backyard, pool, or patio, and add a quick note about how you helped them land the perfect home just in time for summer holidays like this.
9. Subtle Open House Promo: If you have an open house this weekend, don’t just post “Open house Sunday.” Hide it in a value-driven hyper-local post like:
What to do this weekend in [City]:
-
- Thursday: go to [ ] for cocktails
- Friday: check out [ ] for live music
- Saturday: head to [ ] for a food festival
- Sunday: stop by my open house from 2-5
- Monday: brunch at [ ]

10. Get Personal: Like any holiday, LDW is a good time to show your traditions and what you do. And guess what? Personal photos and family posts get the most engagement, according to our social media survey.
11. College Football Kicks Off: College football really starts Saturday. If you’re a fan, post predictions for your school’s record, mention your favorite bars, tailgate spots, or highlight a home game if there is one. Ask your audience: what’s your go-to restaurant or bar to watch college football in (insert city)?

Ok, there you have it. Hope this helps!
