Today, HomeServices of America announced it has acquired 1000WATT, the strategy, research and creative agency Brian Boero and Marc Davison cofounded in 2007.

The agency is known across the industry for its research and creative work.

For agents and leaders at HomeServices companies and in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) franchise network, the big question is what an in-house research and creative team could mean for them.

Here’s a rundown of who’s joining HomeServices and what the company plans to do with them.

Who 1000WATT Is and Who’s Joining HomeServices

1000WATT has worked with companies in a wide range of housing businesses, including:

Its services run from research and brand positioning to design and marketing. Outside of client work, the agency has built a platform through its original research and industry events.

Both founders are taking executive jobs at HomeServices of America:

  • Brian Boero as Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer
  • Marc Davison as Chief Creative Officer

The entire 1000WATT team is joining HomeServices along with them, bringing people who work in strategy, research, copywriting, design, creative development, project leadership and marketing.

How HomeServices Plans to Use 1000WATT’s Research and Creative Team

HomeServices says the deal adds resources for its own companies and for HSF Affiliates, the franchise arm that runs the BHHS network.

According to the company, the acquisition gives it:

  • A “sharpened voice”
  • A research and content platform it can use across its companies and franchise network
  • A creative team bringing “a new layer of consumer intelligence, strategy and marketing services” to HomeServices companies and HSF Affiliates

The company says the research and content are meant to help agents and leaders understand:

  • Changing consumer expectations
  • Agent sentiment
  • Opportunities in their businesses and markets

HomeServices describes the deal as part of its evolution “from a quiet industry juggernaut to a leading voice for consumers and real estate professionals.”

Davison talked about what drew 1000WATT to the deal.

“What made this deal especially compelling for us is that we have had the opportunity to work with so many HomeServices of America companies over the years. We know their markets. We know their cultures. We know many of their people. We now have the opportunity to work with them to magnify their individual and collective brand power.”

Where the Deal Fits in HomeServices’ 2026 Moves

The acquisition comes after a busy year for HomeServices. Here’s what the company has done so far in 2026:

  • Launched the OnePoint brand, a project 1000WATT helped lead
  • Rolled out a unified technology platform across its entire network
  • Added mortgage servicing to its business

HomeServices ties these moves to its goal of a “Complete Real Estate Experience,” where one connected team guides clients from beginning to end. The company describes that experience as “led by people and supported by technology.”

HomeServices is owned by Berkshire Hathaway Energy, a consolidated subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Boero described what he sees in the company he’s joining.

“HomeServices of America has built something singular: a scaled national enterprise that includes brokerage, a wholly-owned top-25 mortgage lender, a 50-state title footprint, a nationwide insurance company, and now mortgage servicing. We’ve seen that unique structural advantage come alive in the past year working with Chris and the HomeServices team, and can’t wait to bring all of our energies to bear on an effort of this reach, scale and ambition.”

HomeServices says it plans to put 1000WATT’s research and content to work across its companies and its franchise network.

CEO Chris Kelly connected the deal to everything else the company has rolled out this year.

“This acquisition, along with all of the initiatives we’ve launched this year, marks a moment of massive opportunity to truly redefine the real estate experience and offer consumers a solution that balances skilled people with helpful technology.”
