Today, Netflix releases Season 5 of The Crown, showcasing Queen Elizabeth II’s responses to challenges in the 1990s when the media couldn’t get enough of Diana and Charles. Not exactly real estate reality TV, but it’s something fans have been waiting on for two years.
So to get ready for the season, we’re diving into the real estate portfolio owned by the Crown.
Real Estate Portfolio Worth $25 Billion
When King Charles III ascended to the throne after the Queen’s passing in September, he inherited a real estate portfolio estimated at $25 billion, according to Forbes.
The properties include at least seven palaces, 10 castles, 12 homes, 56 holiday cottages, and 14 ancient ruins across the United Kingdom (and two in Transylvania).
Forbes valued the properties, based on estimates from Lenka Dušková Munter, a historical properties sales specialist, and Colby Short, co-founder and CEO of estate agent website GetAgent.co.uk.
