Halloween is here, which means it’s prime time to get creative with your listing videos.
If you’re trying to get more eyes on your next property, seasonal content is one of the easiest ways to do it.
We just shot our newest listing in Los Angeles, and because it’s going live this month, we decided to lean into the season and add a little spooky flair. Here are three easy Halloween-inspired video ideas you can use to make your next listing stand out.
1. The Addams Family Snap
This one’s simple and super nostalgic.
Grab another phone or iPad, play The Addams Family theme song in the background, and film yourself standing in different parts of the house snapping along to the beat.
Do it in the kitchen.
Do it again in the living room.
Maybe even the primary bathroom.
You’re using trending, recognizable music to highlight the best parts of the property and it’s an instant scroll-stopper.
2. The Monster Mash
We all know dancing videos tend to go viral. So why not bring a little Monster Mash energy into your next listing shoot?
Play the song on another device and get moving, nothing wild, just a few simple dance moves in the most desirable spots: kitchen, living room, bathroom.
Yeah, it might feel a little silly to dance in your listing video. But remember, this isn’t your only listing video. It’s part of a bigger marketing mix. Having fun, seasonal content sprinkled throughout your campaign shows personality, relatability, and gives your audience a reason to stop scrolling.
3. The “Serial Killer Buyer”
This idea was inspired by a hilarious video we saw online, and it’s perfect for Halloween.
You’ll need two people: one in front of the camera and one filming. Use your iPhone’s 0.5 or widest setting, and shoot a walkthrough where the “buyer” acts like a slightly unhinged house hunter.
Here’s how it plays out:
“Hey, nice to meet you, agent Oscar.”
“Hey man, what’s that on your hand?”
“Oh, just a long day at work…”
You walk through the property asking absurdly dark questions:
“How soundproof are these walls?”
“Would this tub fit a grown man?”
“This space is perfect to hang my meat… like deer, obviously.”
It’s tongue-in-cheek, it’s funny, and it works. The key is to keep it light, the humor comes from the delivery and the absurdity of treating a home tour like a horror scene.
Why This Works
Seasonal content performs period.
Whether it’s Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Valentine’s Day, tapping into what people are already talking about online gives your posts an instant engagement boost.
And when you do it in a way that still spotlights the property? That’s the sweet spot.
So, this month, embrace the weird, the funny, and the spooky. Your audience will love it and your listings will thank you.
