Content burnout is real, especially for agents trying to grow a brand between closings. But there’s a smarter way to stay visible without getting overwhelmed.

If you’re a BAM regular, you’re familiar with the Stay Paid podcast with Luke Acree and Josh Stike of ReminderMedia. Recently, the showrunners introduced a new format that we’re loving: a Q&A where the co-hosts answer questions live from their listeners.

In a recent episode, Eric Simon, aka The Broke Agent, joined them to discuss all things social media. Among the topics covered, he laid out the cadence he recommends for agents who want to stay visible without getting overwhelmed.

Here’s what a solid five-day weekly content schedule looks like, based entirely on what’s working now.

Start With This: It’s Not About the Algorithm. It’s About the Audience.

If you’re still posting just to stay “top of feed,” you’re playing an outdated game. Today’s Instagram and Facebook algorithms prioritize content people actually engage with.

Consistency alone is not enough to ensure your brand is showing up in front of the right people.

“It’s not about the following anymore. It’s way more about the content… The shareability of your content is the number one metric that you should be focused on.”

Put simply, it’s better to post three high-value pieces of content a week than seven low-effort fillers.

“Your feed is now 40, 50% curated content based off of the ‘for you’ page… If the quality of your content isn’t good, people are just going to start to tune out.”

What gets shown today? Posts that spark attention, interaction, and shares, especially when they’re hyperlocal or educational.

So, before you plan your week, ask these three questions:

  • Is this post entertaining, informative, or genuinely helpful?
  • Is it specific to my market or audience?
  • Would I share this if I saw it in my feed?

If the answer to all three is no, you’re better off skipping the post and focusing on something that hits the mark.

Here’s What to Post Each Day

Here’s what The Broke Agent recommends:

  • 3 to 5 posts per week across Instagram and Facebook
  • 1 newsletter every 2 weeks,
  • 1 long-form YouTube video once a month

But for agents looking to build consistency without burnout, here’s a five-day weekly schedule based on the approach he outlines in the episode.

Monday: Local Hook + Static or Carousel Post

Start the week with content that reminds people you’re tapped into the community. Hyperlocal content drives attention, especially when you lead with a strong hook.

Ideas:

  • New restaurant or summer camp feature
  • “What $600K gets you in [Neighborhood Name]”
  • “The most underrated brunch spot in [Your City]”

This type of post builds trust and visibility, especially when you tie it back to real estate in the caption or comments.

Tuesday: Educational Reel or Green Screen Breakdown

Teach your audience something. Whether it’s a market myth, a financing tip, or a walk-through of a listing strategy, your goal is to provide value that earns attention.

Ideas:

  • “3 signs it’s time to sell, even with high rates”
  • “How agents are using ChatGPT to save hours each week”
  • “This agent gained 50,000 subscribers from one YouTube title strategy”

As Eric explained:

“Anytime you could put a numerical value in your thumbnail or your title, and it’s results driven…that’s when we find ourselves getting the most clicks.”

Use a clear hook in the first three seconds and make sure your captions support the message, not just the visuals.

Wednesday: Local Business Collab or Sphere Feature

Midweek is the perfect time to spotlight someone else. This can be a local business, community event, or even a happy client.

Ideas:

  • Interview with a local business owner
  • Mini-review of a hidden gem coffee shop
  • “Here’s why my clients chose [This Neighborhood]”

“The more views you’re going to get are going to be from your social channels that are already in existence… as opposed to just trying to grow the podcast audience organic with the best YouTube title and thumbnails.”

Collaboration posts tend to get shared more often, which expands your reach without any extra spend.

Thursday: Market Insight or ‘Deal of the Week’ Reel

Now it’s time to lean into your real estate expertise. Instead of blasting out a “Just Listed” post, package your market knowledge in a way that’s interesting and scroll-stopping.

Ideas:

  • “What a million dollars gets you in [Your Market]”
  • “The best home under $500K right now”
  • “Rates dropped again. Here’s what it means for buyers in [Your Area]”

“Everybody loves to look on Zillow for the nicest home in their area.”

You can even disguise a listing video as a neighborhood highlight by starting with a restaurant, trail, or amenity before transitioning into the property.

Friday: Personal Post + Engagement Prompt

End the week with something that shows your human side. A behind-the-scenes photo, funny moment from a showing, or a “this or that” post can drive authentic engagement.

Ideas:

  • “I almost missed a showing because of this…”
  • “My go-to drive-thru in [City] is _____—what’s yours?”
  • “This real estate myth refuses to die. Let’s fix that.”

“What does National Drive-Thru Day do? Nobody cares… but then you could say, ‘This is my favorite drive-thru here in Los Angeles. Here’s why.’”

These posts build connection. They also give the algorithm the engagement it needs to boost your more strategic content.

Engage Daily, Even When You Don’t Post

Posting is just half the job. Spend 15 to 30 minutes a day being social on social, especially if you’re looking to stay top of mind with your sphere.

“Responding to people’s stories, responding to your clients’ DMs, commenting… That juices the algorithm for your posts.”

He also advises leaving real comments on other accounts, not just fire emojis or “love this.” Something thoughtful or funny gives people a reason to check out your profile.

“You want to constantly be changing the format… but also doubling down on the stuff that’s getting the most engagement.”

Final Takeaway: Post Like a Professional, Not a Content Machine

This five-day content strategy isn’t about becoming an influencer. It’s about showing up consistently, adding value, and reminding people that you’re the agent they want in their corner.

“You have to build that audience first with the hyper local content, and then you can build the real estate content underneath it.”
