Most agents lose control of their week by Tuesday morning.
And in real estate, this means losing money, missing opportunities, and falling behind agents who are actually running their business like a business.
I refuse to operate like that.
I recently made a post inside our BAMx community on Skool about a strategy that has completely changed how I approach my week. It’s a simple concept: Plan Tomorrow Today.
I first heard this phrase from Sam Ovens in a YouTube video, long before he built Skool, the platform our membership is now hosted on. Later, I saw this same principle emphasized in EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which I use to run both BAM and my real estate team in Connecticut. EOS teaches that great leaders and managers plan ahead so they can stay proactive and in control instead of constantly reacting.
Over time, I’ve refined my own system around this principle, and every Sunday afternoon, I dedicate 30-45 minutes to setting up my week. This small investment of time pays massive dividends in clarity, productivity, and momentum.
Here’s my entire process:
The Sunday Planning Framework
1. Review Last Week
Before looking ahead, I take stock of what happened the week before. This reflection helps me course-correct and optimize my time moving forward. I ask myself:
- What were my biggest wins?
- Where did I fall short or waste time?
- Are there any unfinished tasks or projects that need to roll into this week? (This tells me what needs to be discussed in my Monday L10 meetings with my teams.)
2. Define the Week’s Top Priorities
Once I’ve reviewed the past week, I set clear priorities for the one ahead:
- What are the 3 most important outcomes I need to accomplish this week?
- Are there any upcoming deadlines or commitments I need to prepare for?
- What meetings, calls, or events do I need to be intentional about? (And how do these support this quarter’s rocks?)
3. Time-Block & Pre-Schedule
This is where the real optimization happens. I take my priorities and schedule them before the week starts.
- I block out non-negotiable deep work time.
- I schedule my most important to-dos (I obsess over this in writing first, then fine-tune my Google Calendar for maximum efficiency).
- I decide my “One Thing” for Monday before I go to bed. This is written down on paper first, then reflected in my digital calendar.
4. Plan Monday Before It Starts
The worst way to start a week is in reaction mode. That’s why I set up my Monday in advance:
- I write down my Monday schedule on paper and then ensure it matches my Google Calendar.
- I clear my workspace and organize everything I need for the week. This ensures I start Monday in a productive headspace instead of scrambling to get organized.
Why This Strategy Works
This practice eliminates decision fatigue, keeps me proactive instead of reactive, and ensures I don’t start Monday feeling behind. Having a strong foundation makes it easier to tweak and adjust throughout the week as needed.
If you’ve ever felt like your week gets away from you by Tuesday, this small Sunday ritual is a game-changer.
