Are you looking for a way to increase your Google reviews? There’s an easy strategy that can help you increase your reviews by seven times (or more), and it’s simpler than you think.
Perception is reality, remember, and real reviews are crucial. Potential clients are virtually interviewing you through your Google reviews before they even pick up the phone.
Your Google My Business profile is crucial to your success as a real estate agent, and the key to maximizing it lies in how many reviews you can collect from each transaction. Here’s the secret: the number of parties involved in a transaction is more than you think.
Why One Review Isn’t Enough
Most agents, when after closing a deal, only contact their client. Their goal is to get one review from just one of the people involved in the transaction. Granted, it makes sense to ask for a review from the person you helped the most.
But here’s where the math gets real.
You could do 100 deals a year. If you’re only asking your client for a review, even if all 100 clients follow through, that’s just 100 reviews. But what you need to understand is there are at least seven sides to a real estate transaction. Here’s who you can ask for reviews:
- Your client
- The other client (buyer or seller on the other side)
- Home inspector
- Lender
- Title company
- Transaction coordinator
- The broker on the other side
Read on to see how you can potentially turn 100 reviews into 700.
Start By Giving Reviews
The best way to kickstart your review-collecting strategy is to show appreciation to everyone involved in the transaction. From your client to the home inspector, every professional who played a part deserves recognition.
Anyone on this list who also has a Google Business page would appreciate a positive Google review. So, leave them one.
Maybe the inspection company that worked for the other side did a great job. Let them know—both in a conversation and with a positive Google review. Then, you can send your review and say, “Hey, we really appreciate you doing the inspection. Could you give me a review?”
When you give someone a glowing review, especially when it helps boost their Google profile, they’re more likely to return the favor. It’s human nature. When someone does something nice for us, we naturally want to reciprocate.
Expand Your Reach Beyond Your Client
Reach out to all the parties involved in the transaction. Consider giving them reviews, even if they don’t reciprocate. Because the more you give, the more you receive. If you’re making that part of your plan for each transaction, as you get closer to the sale’s closing, you will see reviews come in.
Why More Reviews Matter
Reviews are reviews. Don’t underestimate the power of reviews from professionals outside of the buyer or seller. While buyers and sellers are key, reviews from home inspectors, lenders, or other brokers add credibility to your profile. Potential clients who read these reviews see you as a well-rounded, respected real estate professional in the eyes of your peers.
People checking out your Google Business page will see you have so many more reviews compared to other agents in your area. And their perception, more or less, is “This agent’s got a lot of reviews and a high overall rating. They must be good.”
They might not read all hundreds of your reviews. They don’t need to. More likely than not, they’ll focus on the number of reviews you have and your overall Google rating.
Maximize Every Transaction
Don’t limit yourself to one review per transaction. Try to get seven—maybe even 10 or more—for each one, to elevate your Google credibility. More buyers and sellers will want to work with you because you have what looks like hundreds of satisfied clients who went out of their way to leave you a positive review.
For every deal here at Parrot Realty, we don’t stop with just one or two reviews for each client. We’re consistently looking to get 7-10 or more reviews from people directly involved in the transaction.
You can do the same. And you must do it to elevate your Google reviews as quickly as you possibly can.
