December is what the Knowledge Brokers call “Separation Month.” It’s the time when some agents ease off the gas, while others push full throttle, setting themselves up for a strong finish to 2024 and a head start in 2025. Personally, I don’t care which camp you’re in, but if nothing else, you should make it look like you’re busy by staying active on social. Remember, perception is reality!
So, here it is…my final monthly content blog of the year, packed with December post ideas to keep you active through the holidays.
Content Ideas to Use All December Long
Festive Home Tours: Do a Reel compilation of the neighborhoods with the best holiday decorations and light set-ups. As you go through each neighborhood, you can also discuss its average sales price and perks to show your market knowledge.
Highlight a charity: Similar to last month, the holidays are a time of giving back. Showcase the charities you work with and inform your followers about gift donations and community events.
Show what it’s like to be a Realtor in the winter: Are you shoveling snow at your listings? Are you dealing with a frozen lock box? What elements do you have to battle to get the house ready for a showing? This could be a fun Reel or a behind-the-scenes IG story.
Example format: A Reel or story titled “Winter Realtor Problems Episode 1.”
Film yourself doing “Gift drop-offs” for your clients.
Year-in-review content: Share a snapshot of your year. Whether it’s sales milestones, volume, or personal highlights from each month. Skip the generic stats and make it personal. Highlight happy clients in a carousel post or share the stories behind your favorite deals for a more heartfelt touch.
There are some good templates available in Coffee & Contracts for this!
Why it’s good to list or buy during the holidays: This is the main objection//question you will probably get over the next 30 days. The most common objections are always great for turning into content.
Here is a good response from Tom Toole:
Try these hooks:
- “Here’s why you should list your home over the holidays.”
- “Thinking of waiting until the new year to make a move? Here’s why you should buy in December.”
December Holiday Dates & Ideas
December 2: Cyber Monday
Share deals for homeowners: smart thermostats, security cameras, or home decor.
But the most important thing you can do today is join our BAMx membership, which is 40% off today! Every single week you get three social media templates, two video scripts, one blog, and one email to send to your database—plus instant access to all our courses, trainings, mastermind, and community.

December 11th: National Have a Bagel Day
Again, I am aware of how stupid these fake holidays are, but they always inspire great content. What are your favorite bagel shops in your market? List them.
December 24th: Christmas Eve
Naughty & Nice List: Make a funny list of people who deserve coal in their stockings vs. the people who deserve to be showered in gifts.
For example, your Naughty List can include agents who don’t answer the phone, agents who use the word “wow” in property descriptions, friends who use other agents, appraisers who ruin deals, dads who ruin inspections, neighbors who poke around your open house, etc.
Your Nice List can include agents who leave out water bottles at opens, friends who refer you to clients, and clients who actually know what they are looking for.
Holiday Wishlist: Make a list to Santa for your dream gifts. Maybe the only thing on the list is Referrals.
Here’s an example:
- A stress-free transaction
- Sellers who declutter over the holidays
- Referrals
- A magic ball to predict mortgage rates
December 25th: Christmas / Hanukkah: December 25th – January 2 / Kwanzaa: December 26th – January 1
Family content for your stories. Show your traditions. Post nothing. Delete your account.
December 31: New Year’s Eve
2025 Predictions: Where do you see the market going in 2025? You probably want to avoid talking about rates or making any predictions that are too bold because you don’t want to steer your clients in the wrong direction. They can be more generalized, like inventory levels increasing, more days on market, etc.
You can also include something funny in your predictions that has nothing to do with selling real estate—like you predict Bitcoin will hit $200,000 and Ohio State will win the national championship in football.
Finally, you can share forecasts from economists—like the one below, which was sent to BAMx members on Friday.

Gratitude Post: Similar to Thanksgiving, show all the people/vendors you are thankful for this year.
New Year’s Resolutions: List out your goals for 2025. You could even include the goals you reached and didn’t reach in 2024. Failing on some of your resolutions is relatable and would make for interesting content.
December Social Media Tip
Use holiday-themed audios in Reels and carousels. Adding audio has significantly boosted engagement—don’t miss out!
Finally, you have to register for the BAMMYs, our FREE virtual livestream on December 11th. We will be doing the 2024 real estate content awards and a presentation from the legendary Neel Dhingra on how to turn Content into Clients: The 2025 Playbook for Social. This is a can’t-miss event.
