Key Details:

  • BoomTown has announced the winners of their 3rd annual Give Back Awards.
  • BoomTown’s own pledge to donate $10 for every nomination to The Florida Realtors® Disaster Relief Fund generated $1,830 in donations.

BoomTown has announced the winners of their third annual Give Back Awards, highlighting real estate professionals who went above and beyond to serve others in 2022 and providing details on the actions of each award recipient.

This year, they added a fourth category. And with their announcement, they shared the results of their pledge to donate $10 for every nomination to The Florida Realtors® Disaster Relief Fund.

The Give Back Awards

BAM broke down the three main awards in a November article that gave readers a chance to nominate agents for one or more of them:

  • The Helping Hand Award—honoring someone who jumped into action to help friends, family, employees, another business, or their community
  • The Walk the Talk Award—showcasing someone who’s made charitable giving a defining part of their business
  • The Creative Changemaker Award—highlighting someone who used creativity to put an innovative spin on giving back

This year, BoomTown added a fourth to the line-up: The Hurricane Hero Award—celebrating someone who made heroic rescue efforts during Hurricane Ian in Florida.

A panel of judges from BoomTownLOVE—the company’s service and outreach organization—selected the award recipients. Nominations for 2023 will open in November.

The 2022 Boomtown Give Back Award Winners

Here are this year’s Give Back Award winners:

  • The Helping Hand: Alicia Stukes, Associate Broker, eXp Realty in Maryland—for the work she’s done as founder of I’m Bruised But Not Broken (IBBNB), providing resources and services to victims of domestic violence.
  • The Walk the Talk: Chip Collins, Owner/Broker-in-charge at Collins Group Realty—who consistently finds ways to serve his community through food drives, toy drives, litter sweeps, and more, living by his company motto, “Structured to Serve.”
  • The Creative Changemaker: Tristan Kong, Sales Representative for The Read Estate Team at Keller Williams Real Estate Associates—the first Deaf/full ASL-using Realtor in the country, who consistently supports the Deaf economy by hiring Deaf contractors, makers, and team members whenever he can.
  • Hurricane Hero: Joey Giordano, Gaff’s Realty—for rescuing about 30 people, as well as pets, out of their flooded neighborhood with a Jon Boat and kayaks.

Each of the winners received a $1,000 prize, along with $100 to the charity of their choice.

Also, BoomTown’s pledge to donate $10 per nomination to The Florida Realtors® Disaster Relief Fund generated a total donation of $1,830 to support hurricane recovery efforts.

Celebrating the accomplishments of those bettering their communities is a privilege I look forward to each year, and this year’s recipients truly went above and beyond. It’s inspiring to see this initiative grow, to be able to fund more future endeavors, and to honor the kindness and goodwill that can be created in the face of adversity, hardship, and even natural disasters.
