Before we get into some ideas for July, I just want to say this…
We’re officially halfway through 2026. Summer, especially around the Fourth of July, can feel a little slower. Fewer people are answering their phones, everyone is on vacation, and engagement SUCKS on social.
Just know that and get through it.
This also makes it the perfect time to analyze what’s actually working in your content.
You’ve been posting for six months already. Take a day and audit what is actually performing so you can make adjustments.
Which posts are getting the most shares?
Which Reels have the highest Skip rate or watch time?
How are your newsletter open rates?
View your insights, double down on what crushes, and stop spending time making content that doesn’t move the needle.
Now, let’s get into July content ideas.
July 4th: Independence Day (And The Days Leading Up)
One reminder before we start…
NO GENERIC BROKERAGE HOLIDAY GRAPHICS.
Please. Last time I’ll say it…until the next time I say it.
1. The Best Fireworks Viewing Spots
Do a quick Reel or carousel showing the best places to watch fireworks in your market.
Tell people where to park.
What time to get there.
What to bring.
Where the bathrooms are.
BAMx members can grab our Fireworks Guide template and customize it for their market in just a few minutes.
2. Everything Happening This Weekend
Create one post that rounds up everything happening in your town around the 4th.
Parades. Festivals. Street fairs. Concerts. Farmers markets. World Cup watch parties.
This also makes for a great newsletter.
3. Highlight Patriotic Neighborhoods
Every town has at least one neighborhood that goes completely insane with Fourth of July decorations.
“Which neighborhood has the best Fourth of July decorations?”
4. “PSA: Nobody Cares About Your Fireworks Video…”
Start your Reel with:
“PSA… nobody cares about your fireworks video…”
Then pivot into something valuable.
“…but here’s my open house this Sunday”
It’s a dumb hook, which is exactly why people will watch.
5. Share What YOU Are Doing
Not every post has to be about real estate. Show what you and your family do for the 4th. Can just be in IG stories.
6. “If You’re Visiting (Your City) This Weekend…”
Coffee here. Breakfast here. Fireworks here. Late-night drinks here.
7. Help People Avoid Traffic
Traffic content always hits, and traffic is always terrible on the 4th.
Tell people the roads to avoid, the easiest parking, the least crowded viewing spots.
Inside information.
8. The Most American Spot In Your Town
Is there an old diner, dive bar, baseball field, or lake? Something that has been around for YEARS that feels like America. If so, tell the story and why it feels so American.
World Cup Content Ideas
1. Where To Watch The Games
Create a guide to the best sports bars, breweries, restaurants, and patios showing the World Cup.
2. Where Each Fan Base Should Watch
Every market has pockets of fans.
Where should Mexico fans watch?
Where should England fans watch?
Where should Brazil fans watch?
Where should Argentina fans watch?
Where should Portugal fans watch?
Create individual posts like:
“Where Mexico fans should watch the World Cup in (your city).”
Or:
“The best bar in (your city) for Brazil fans.”
3. World Cup Food Tour
Turn the tournament into a local restaurant series.
If Argentina is playing, highlight the best steakhouse or empanada spot.
If Mexico is playing, highlight the best taco shop.
If Japan is playing, highlight the best sushi spot.
If Brazil is playing, highlight the best Brazilian steakhouse.
If France is playing, highlight the best bakery or French restaurant.
If Portugal is playing, highlight the best Portuguese restaurant or seafood spot.
If Croatia is playing, highlight a local Eastern European spot.
You get it.
“Eat your way through the World Cup in (your city).”
4. World Cup Watch Parties
Search local event pages, breweries, sports bars, restaurants, and city websites.
Make one post:
“Every World Cup watch party happening in (your city) this week.”
July 15: National Hot Dog Day
If you’ve watched The Walk Thru over the years, you already know we call hot dogs glizzies.
Rank the best hot dog spots in town.
Ask your audience where the best glizzy is.
Unbelievably stupid, but fun.
July 19th: National Ice Cream Day
Start your Reel with:
“Here’s a controversial opinion…”
Then reveal your favorite ice cream shop in town.
Or keep it simple.
“The three best ice cream spots in (your city).”
Caption:
“This is fact, not opinion. Debate me in the comments.”
July 22nd: BAM BBQ
This isn’t a content idea, but it will help you come up with viral content using AI.
On July 22nd, we’re hosting BAM BBQ, our biggest virtual event of the summer. Chris Smith is going to break down how he comes up with, tests, and finds viral real estate content.
If you’ve attended one of our virtual events before, you already know they’re packed with value.
They’re also completely free.
Grab a glizzy, crack open a drink, and spend a couple of hours investing in your business.
