With the Masters Tournament this week, we’re shining a spotlight on homes that qualify as “dream houses for golf lovers.”

So, what makes a home ideal for a golf enthusiast—aside from close proximity to a local golf course? We looked for homes with features like putting greens in the backyard (or the front), as well as nearby gathering spaces for folks to watch their favorite golfers practice.

And for those days when golfing outdoors is a no-go, an indoor golf simulator is the next-best thing.

We’ve rounded up some examples of drool-worthy homes for golf lovers. Soak up some ideas while you enjoy the views.

#1—Indoor & outdoor golfing in a $27.5M Houston dream home

A golf lover’s palace in the River Oaks Neighborhood of Houston, TX hit the market in January for $27.5 million. Covering roughly 1.2-acres, the property comes with a putting green and a golf simulator. Mansion Global has all the details.

The four-bedroom home has about 15,000 square feet with the following extras:

  • Billiards room
  • Wine room
  • Wood-paneled wet bar
  • Screened-in porch with fireplace
  • Large exercise room over the four-car garage
  • Massage room (connected to exercise room)
  • Golf simulator (indoor)

We’re mainly fixated on that last one—which the current owner, Neil Kelley, uses frequently—along with the outdoor putting green.

#2—Backyard putting green for the SoCal golf lover

Who do you know in Southern California who’s allergic to sunlight? Nobody we know. And the $5.195 million Encino home featured here has sun-loving golfers in mind with its backyard amenities. Picture yourself practicing your swing on the putting green—then going for a dip in the saltwater pool surrounded by a large deck for lounging in the sun.

#3—Front lawn fairway in York, Maine

Listed at just under $9.8 million, this stunning oceanfront home in York, Maine, features a country club-style putting green right out front, just off the driveway, for those days when playing a full 18 is just not happening.

For relaxing after practice, there’s also a pool and an outdoor summer kitchen, not to mention the beach nearby.

#4—Putting practice by the pool in Rhode Island

If a seaside haven in Rhode Island is more your style, this $6.25 million home in Bristol offers plenty of reasons to spend more time outdoors:

  • Direct ocean access with a dock
  • A pool situated near a dining gazebo and shaded summer kitchen
  • Putting green tucked to the side

The property also comes with a carriage house, which could be converted into a golf simulation den for days when the weather makes outdoor golf less appealing.

#5—A backyard putting green in Houston

This idyllic Provençal-style home in Houston offers lush landscaping and custom-built interiors with artisanal craftsmanship, salvaged oak beams, and antique doors.

Outside in the gated backyard area, you’ll find a pool, a stone deck, and a large putting green beneath shady trees, so you can practice your golf game without getting scorched.

The Waterfalling Estate on the Big Island of Hawaii is an oceanfront compound built with sports enthusiasts in mind—including golf lovers. It’s also a luxury vacation rental.

This home in Miami Lakes, Florida is ideal for families who love being outside, especially when golf is involved. Aside from the in-ground trampoline and large pool, the golfers in residence enjoy 24/7 access to a putting green on the landscaped lawn.

Plus the house isn’t bad either.
