Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s L.A. Penthouse Listed

On the May 26th episode of The Walk Thru, we talked about how the drama of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial exploded on TikTok, making Depp and Heard’s troubled 15-month marriage a popular and polarizing spectacle across the globe. 

Naturally, that has had an impact on the value of one of their former properties. 

The obsession continues…

The media frenzy surrounding Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard has yet to cool down, even after the judge’s verdict gave Depp the victory. 

Last week, a penthouse unit Depp owned while married to Heard – at the top of the Eastern Columbia building in downtown Los Angeles – came on the market. 

The unit is one of five Depp owned while married to Heard. While the couple lived there, the units were combined into one lavish space with soaring ceilings and spectacular views. After the divorce, Depp sold all five as separate units for a combined $12.78 million.

Coincidence or capitalizing?

Douglas Elliman agent Ernie Carswell calls it “just coincidental timing” that the one bedroom, two bathroom penthouse unit has hit the market again, according to the New York Post. So random. 

The agent couldn’t confirm that Heard’s sister had lived in the penthouse section during the trial – or that this was where Heard had allegedly punched Depp. 

He did know it was one of the couple’s favorite parts of their “mansion in the sky.” 

The unit offers easy access to the building’s rooftop swimming pool, which Depp and Heard had pretty much to themselves while they lived there. Aside from the pool, the building itself boasts a spa, a Zen garden, a gym, and a 24-hour concierge service. 

It remains to be seen whether the property will attract a loyal Depp fan – or just someone who appreciates the building’s history.
