If you’ve ever Googled yourself and winced at the results (or worse, found nothing at all), you’re not alone. Most real estate agents know they need an online presence, but few have a system to actually improve it week to week.
If you’re hearing an echo, it’s probably because the importance of being visible to AI search engines was a dominant theme in this year’s BAM BBQ.
In his kickoff presentation, Experience.com CEO Scott Harris shared what might be the most practical advice for agents looking to win in today’s AI-driven search landscape.
And no, it’s not about spending more on ads or pumping out daily content. It’s about showing up for 15 minutes a week and doing the right things consistently.
Five steps. No BS. No wasted time.
Here’s how.
What’s Changed and Why This Matters Now
Search is evolving fast. The majority of consumers are still using Google, but they’re asking it questions now. Those questions often get answered by AI instead of a list of links. If your name doesn’t come up in those AI results, or in local map search, you’re invisible.
Scott put it plainly during his session:
“To win online, you have to evolve to conversational ideas… Not only do you have to do everything you used to have to do, which we do for you, you have to start replying to your reviews.”
You’re no longer just competing on traditional SEO. You’re competing on credibility, consistency, and conversation. Google reviews are just one way to start or continue conversations that get AI’s attention.
Now that Instagram posts are searchable on Google, every comment on your post is an opportunity to boost your visibility in search engine results.
So, how do you stay visible without making this a second job?
Your 15-Minute Weekly Routine
You don’t need to master Google’s algorithm or pay for a virtual assistant. You just need to commit to this five-step routine every week. It takes about 15 minutes and can make a measurable difference in how you show up online.
1. Ask for Reviews
Reviews are the foundation of your online reputation, but recency matters just as much as quantity. Google’s algorithm looks for steady review activity, and according to Scott,
“The algorithm needs 75 reviews per year for a Realtor to maximize your score.”
Aim for a minimum of two reviews each week. Text past clients. Follow up after closings. Make it a habit. And don’t overthink the wording. Just make the ask.
2. Reply to All Recent Reviews
In Scott’s words:
“Reviews are really important, okay? Replying to those reviews is equally, if not more important.”
Your replies are a signal to both Google and potential clients that you’re active and engaged.
That benefits you on multiple fronts. Clients who feel seen and appreciated because of your replies are more likely to recommend you to others. And new potential clients, seeing your engagement with reviews, are more likely to see you as someone who prioritizes communication.
Keep those replies short, personal, and genuine. Thank them, mention something specific from the experience, and avoid copy-paste replies.
3. Post One Q&A on Google
This might be the most underrated tool in your arsenal. Google allows Q&A posts on your business profile, and they count as two-way conversations in search.
Scott’s advice:
“You have to get people to ask you questions every week on Google Q&A. Get your assistant. Get a customer. Come up with 10 smart questions. Q&A is a two-way conversation. It’s a question and an answer.”
Start with one a week. Think of questions you get all the time, from “What’s the first step in buying a home?” to “Do I need 20% down?” Then answer them clearly and confidently.
4. Publish One Google Post
You’ve probably posted on Instagram or Facebook in the last week. But have you posted anything to your Google Business Profile?
Google Posts let you share events (like open houses), updates (like market stats), or offers (like a free CMA). It’s another opportunity for AI to pull in fresh, relevant content with your name on it.
Scott’s recommendation:
“That’s 52 posts a year just doing it 15 minutes once a week.”
And each one strengthens your visibility.
5. Track Your Progress
This is where it gets fun. Experience.com assigns a Search Rank Score based on your online activity, from reviews to website citations. That score tells you how close you are to winning page one visibility.
Scott’s takeaway:
“Points equal outcomes. Because points equal activities and data and the way we share the data and reviews and replies and AI mentions. What you focus on is the points.”
If your score is below 200, you’re probably not showing up in many search results. If it’s over 700, you’re likely generating leads consistently from search and AI mentions.
The Reps Matter More Than the Sign-Up
Just setting up a profile won’t do much. You have to show up and do the work.
Scott said it best:
“I joined the gym. Three months later, I went… I almost canceled because joining the gym did nothing for my body. But when I went and did the work, I lost 40 pounds.”
This routine is your workout. The platform is your gym. You’ll start seeing results when you commit to showing up each week and putting in the reps.
