Gary Vee's $1.80 strategy isn't new—but it is working for those utilizing it on Threads.

Gary Vaynerchuk, better known as Gary Vee, has been preaching the same social strategy since 2017: the $1.80 strategy.

The premise behind the strategy is simple. Share your two cents (i.e., a comment) on relevant posts. Do this 90 times a day, adding up to a grand total of $1.80.

Of course, a lot has changed in the social media landscape since 2017. Gary Vee can’t possibly be suggesting the strategy on new platforms. Can he?

Gary Vee’s $1.80 Strategy for Threads

With the potential for rapid growth on Meta’s newest app, content creators everywhere are eager to tap into the potential for rapid growth on Threads

Always an early adopter, Gary Vee created a green screen a week after the app’s launch to share his thoughts on what creators should be spending their time doing on Threads. And—you guessed it—he’s sharing the same strategy he’s been talking about since 2017.

Time to Get Social

Threads is brimming with opportunities for growth, new connections and increased awareness. The $1.80 strategy is a way to make the most of it before the newness wears off.

To be fair, doing this the right way does take some time and bandwidth. The comments and replies you post can’t just be an emoji or a one-word response. Instead, invest your energy in sharing meaningful contributions. Whether it’s a witty remark, valuable tips, or engaging questions, make an effort to become an integral part of the conversation. After all, as Gary Vee said way back in 2017:

The truth is, the way to win on social media is to actually be social…The only real way to do this from scratch is to become part of the conversation.

While Gary Vee’s strategy for Instagram involves hashtag hunting and engaging with relevant accounts, Threads takes a different approach. Since hashtags are absent (a feature loved by many), focus on finding accounts within your desired field of interest and dive headfirst into conversations. We’ll assume you want to stick with real estate. So, go ahead and start commenting on posts from @nowbam, @thebrokeagent, @byronlazine…you get the idea.

Conversations on Threads are already in full swing. So if you haven’t joined already, embrace the $1.80 strategy, connect with like-minded people, and let your presence shine.
