Pending Home Sales Rise In March Despite Annual Decline | Hot Sheet 04/22/26

On today’s Hot Sheet, Byron Lazine broke down NAR data showing pending home sales rose 1.5% in March but dipped 1.1% year over year, with gains concentrated in the Northeast and South.

He also reviewed Mortgage Bankers Association data for the week ending April 17, 2026, showing mortgage applications jumped 7.9%, with purchases up 10% weekly (14% YoY) and refinances up 6% week over week (52% YoY).
