Everybody knows that, without a strong hook, even the best videos will fail.

That’s exactly why we, as real estate agents, have to be very intentional about the first three seconds of any piece of content we put out.

Let me explain.

Viral Video Hooks

A very popular trend today is viral hooks, which are literally cold stitches from another video that has performed really well.

You can take one of those and connect it to a video you’ve created to get people curious about your real estate content

Let me show you a quick example:

As you can see, a person falling out of a cot and rolling into the living room has nothing to do with me selling the house. However, it was an opportunity for me to—

  • Roll by the fireplace
  • Connect to a viral video that was trending, and
  • Get our piece of content in front of way more people than if I had just talked about the fireplace

These have to be some of the easiest videos to make—which is why we are seeing them go viral.

Cold Stitch with a Cliffhanger

Another type of cold open you might have been seeing leaves the audience with a sort of cliffhanger. Instead of giving them the satisfaction of seeing how the video ends, they get the satisfaction of seeing you.

This actually stitched together two videos in the hook, before I popped in and started talking about the house. These fast, action-packed clips immediately grab the attention of the audience and leave them wanting more.

Here are a few more examples of how to incorporate viral video hooks:

These two trends are wonderfully easy to apply to your content today. And I’d love to see how you guys are going to use it.

If you found this helpful, make sure to share it with someone you know.
