On May 13, Anthropic launched Claude for Small Business: 15 ready-to-run AI workflows built directly into the tools small business operators already use.

Whether working solo or as part of a team, real estate agents are small business operators, and that’s exactly who these workflows are built for.

Lina Ochman, Anthropic’s head of SMB, told Axios the company specifically targeted businesses that software has historically overlooked:

“Historically, the software industry has been built for enterprises or VC-backed startups and consumers. But not for the 15-person HVAC company or the 30-person landscaper or the 50-person real estate brokerage.”

Here’s what launched and how agents should use it.

What did anthropic launch for small businesses?

Claude for Small Business is a set of 15 agentic workflows that run inside the tools you may already have open: QuickBooks, HubSpot, DocuSign, Canva, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and PayPal.

The setup is a toggle install through Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s desktop tool for task automation. You connect the apps you use and pick a workflow. Claude does the rest, and you approve before anything goes out.

It ships with 15 ready-to-run workflows across finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service.

The pitch from Anthropic is that most small businesses have stalled at the chat window, asking questions when they could be running tasks. This is the attempt to close that gap.

Which workflows matter most for agents?

You may not need all 15 workflows, but there are several worth looking into.

#1: Lead Triage via Your Connected CRM

Claude connects to CRMs like HubSpot and Zoho, and pulls your inbound leads, ranked by signal strength, so you know who to call first. If you’re managing any real lead volume and making that call manually, this workflow helps remove the guesswork.

#2: Invoice Chaser

The invoice chaser skill connects to QuickBooks and PayPal, flags what’s overdue, and queues follow-up messages for your approval. If commission payments or referral fees tend to slip when you’re busy, this is the workflow that catches them.

For agents juggling multiple transactions, that’s the difference between catching something before it becomes a problem and finding out after closing.

#3: Contract Reviewer

The contract reviewer is another skill worth running. Claude can connect with DocuSign, send contracts out for signature, track statuses, and file the executed copies.

#4: Campaign and Content Generation via HubSpot and Canva

Claude can pull your email campaign data and find where performance is lagging. From there it builds a promo strategy with on-brand Canva assets ready for your approval.

#5: Google Workspace Connection

With a connection to your Google Workspace, Claude can draft emails tied to specific transaction milestones. Think: inspection follow-ups, appraisal updates, closing reminders. You review and send. The drafts pull from your existing email history, so they sound like you.

Is it safe to connect your business tools?

Half of small business owners in Anthropic’s survey named data security as their biggest hesitation about AI. Anthropic addresses this three ways:

  • You approve everything. Every workflow runs only when you initiate it. You review the plan before anything sends, posts, or pays.
  • Existing permissions hold. If a team member can’t see something in QuickBooks today, they can’t see it through Claude.
  • No training on your data by default on Team and Enterprise plans.

How to Get Started Today

You need a Claude Team or Enterprise plan and access to Claude Cowork. From there, the setup is a toggle install: connect the tools you already use, pick the workflow, and run it.

Anthropic also launched a free AI Fluency for Small Business course in partnership with PayPal for anyone who wants a structured walkthrough before jumping in. It’s available on demand at anthropic.skilljar.com.

The agents who move on this now will have a six-month head start on everyone who waits for their brokerage to tell them about it.

Set it up this week. Run one workflow, and see what comes back.
