On today’s Hot Sheet, Byron Lazine broke down the latest labor market data, covering the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ June Employment Situation report, ADP’s June National Private Employment Report, and the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) for May, which together showed a slowing but generally stable job market.

He also reviewed the latest weekly data from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), highlighting essentially flat mortgage applications as slightly lower rates supported purchase demand while refinance activity eased.
