Jordan Nutter is a registered loan officer as well as a top mortgage influencer.

She’s also a mom. And at the moment, she’s on a 12,000-mile trek across the U.S. with her 11-month-old daughter, her husband, and their two dogs in a 40-foot branded RV.

In her words, she’s living in an RV for the next seven months “to let the next generation of homeowners know that securing a mortgage and fulfilling their dream of home ownership is well within reach regardless of credit score or financial status.”

Meet the Mobile Mortgage Mom

How did this tour even happen?

With well over 250K followers on TikTok, plus a following of over 5K on Instagram, Jordan Nutter has earned the title of “mortgage influencer.”

Her TikTok bio reads “subpar humor with a side of homebuying,” and she’s currently documenting her tour across the country, sharing details on her educational events as well as a taste of RV life.

Could be fun. But fun wasn’t the primary motivator for this adventure in multitasking.

The couple undertook this tour to pursue Jordan’s passion for helping first-time homebuyers, through education and resources, to understand their options and successfully navigate the process of qualifying for and securing a mortgage.

Jordan and her husband, Zach, decided to rent out their Los Angeles home of four years and tour the country for seven months in a branded 40-foot RV, along with their 11-month-old daughter, Charlie, and their two dogs, Olivier and Mia (a pitbull and a rottweiler).

They embarked on their cross-country journey on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Home ownership in America continues to be the most important step on the road to financial security and yet too many families and individuals believe that qualifying for a mortgage is out of reach. I’m determined to show up in towns and cities across our country to help those people understand their options and to give them the tools that will unlock their access to what is still an essential part of the American Dream.

Today’s first-time homebuyers are fewer in number—and older

According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the average age of first-time buyers in 2022 was 36 years—up from 33 in 2021. Also, only 26% of homebuyers in 2022 were first-time buyers—just a little over half the share in 2010, when 50% of all homebuyers were first-timers.

That 25% share is the lowest since NAR first started tracking first-time homeownership.

Jordan is partnering with FirstHome IQ, a non-profit organization providing “homeownership education, inspiration, and resources that lead to equal opportunities to build wealth through homeownership for the next generation.”

Where is Jordan now?

The Mortgage-Mom-mobile will be visiting over 50 towns and cities in 30 states over seven months, presenting at a variety of local venues including—

  • Community centers
  • Colleges and universities
  • Retail parking lots
  • Other neighborhood gathering spaces

She’ll also be teaming up with local real estate companies to offer free seminars demystifying the mortgage process for young motivated homebuyers.

For those wanting to engage with Jordan online throughout the “initial 7-month tour,” she’ll be documenting her travels and on-the-road experiences with her community of over 250K followers on TikTok as well as on Instagram
