With 20 agents in Hawaii and seven in California, Harosky Homes completed almost 150 deals at over $100 million in sales last year as an independent brokerage.

And last month, Leian Harosky announced the merger of her brokerage with eXp.

With over two decades of experience—and a career that boasts an international flair, roles in corporate and government sectors, and a tenure at the U.S. Embassy—Harosky is always moving toward expansion. This move is a natural progression in her journey.

Harosky Homes Moves to eXp Realty

When asked about the motivation behind transitioning from an independent brokerage to eXp Realty, Harosky emphasized her commitment to growth. Building a successful company often requires shedding old structures to make room for bigger opportunities.

In life, there’s always trade. That’s a cost of leadership—you have to drop something in order to get bigger.

With agents currently in Hawaii and California, Harosky says her team is “only going to get bigger,” as it expands into new states. eXp’s cloud-based model aligns with this vision of expansion, providing a robust support system for agents, even when Harosky can’t be with her agents in person.

Although Harosky considers herself a hands-on broker, being physically present in every state is not feasible. eXp’s infrastructure allows for collaboration and support across geographical boundaries, enabling her team to thrive, regardless of location.

While the cloud-based model isn’t for everyone, more than 80% of Harosky’s agents were supportive of her decision, and transitioned over to eXp before she made the announcement.

Cloud-based is not for everyone, and not everyone will sail the boat with you, so you need to have that acceptance.

Her clients, too, are on board, with “98% of (her) clients being very supportive,” Harosky said.

While Harosky is excited to utilize the resources and support available at eXp, she’s sticking to what she knows works for her team, including her onboarding program and other systems she has developed over the years.

What we’re doing is maximizing the resources and tools that eXp has. We’re keeping probably 70% of the systems and structures that we have and adding 30% from eXp.

Long-Term Vision: Expanding Horizons

As she settles into eXp Realty, Harosky joked that this move will help her continue expanding for “a billion years.” She aims to extend her services to all 50 states and wants her agents in every location to have all the support and systems they need to succeed.

My vision for Harosky Homes is for it to run with or without me.

Harosky comes from humble beginnings—a journey she shares fully on this episode of Coffee for Closers with Travis Farris. She grew up on a farm in the Philippines with no running water or electricity until she was 13. After receiving a scholarship at the age of 17, she got her start in the real estate business doing marketing. Since then, she’s continually focused on growth.

That growth is for a purpose much bigger than herself. It starts with a commitment to protecting clients and their investments through education. Through one-on-one discussions and free weekly public seminars, Harosky Homes goes beyond selling real estate for their clients.

In addition to education, Harosky is passionate about giving back to her community. Harosky Homes gives a percentage of each commission to the nonprofit organization she developed, Helping Ohana, which supports various causes throughout Hawaii, including immigration trafficking and homeless veterans. These are the pillars for her business and its growth.

My why—why I want Harosky Homes to sail for a billion years—is for the nonprofit that I formed to help the community and those less fortunate.
