On today’s Hot Sheet, Byron Lazine broke down December home price data from S&P Cotality Case-Shiller and the FHFA, showing annual gains of 1.3% and 1.8% as appreciation cooled to its weakest pace since 2011.

He also reviewed a new Zillow analysis showing median-income households can now afford a $331,483 home, a $30,302 increase in purchasing power from a year ago and the strongest housing affordability level since March 2022.
