When someone looks at your Instagram profile, they should immediately be able to determine these three things: who you are, what you do and where you do it.

For real estate agents, most of this can be accomplished in the bio. If you want to learn how to fully optimize your bio, read this.

BUT, there is a secret hack to make sure you also let them know about you in the feed, and you can do this by pinning a post—or two or three.

Here is a perfect example from Marie Lee. Let’s look at her three pinned posts.

Pinned Post #1

Let’s start with her top left pinned posts that introduce herself to her followers. Swipe through this because it’s perfect. (You can get these pinned post templates in Coffee & Contracts.)

As you can see, she talks about who she is, what you can expect from her IG page, a background real estate story, what areas she serves, what types of clients she serves, and then drops some “fun facts” in the caption so you can get to know her even more.

Pinned Post #2

Marie’s next pinned post is very clever as it breaks down what you will NOT see her do as a Realtor on Instagram. By including this pinned post, she immediately builds trust and separates herself from the “other agents on Instagram” who post stuff like “RENTING IS FOR LOSERS. BUY NOW! WORK WITH ME.”

Pinned Post #3

Her final pinned post goes into more detail about the areas she serves.

This gives complete clarity to her followers and makes it easy for other agents to identify where she sells for referrals.

In three posts, you get to know everything about Marie, why she does what she does, how she can help you, and why she is different from other agents that you may follow.

ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSELF

Now, if you want to film a video instead of a carousel, I recommend doing something like this from Krys Benyamein.

Amazing hook, keeps your attention, and gives fun little facts about who Krys is. He throws in that he’s a local real estate agent and that he “runs these streets.” Hilarious way to tell his new followers who he is and remind all the old followers where he came from. We covered on this week’s Walk Thru podcast.

Moral of the story: pin a post or two to provide clarity and background as to who you are and where you sell. And don’t forget to reintroduce yourself every now and then with a video like the one from Krys.

Remember, you are always picking up new followers who don’t know your story or background. Remind them and reintroduce yourself!

By the way, Krys is speaking at BAM MANIA. We are five Fridays away, so make sure you grab your tickets asap!
