Just when you think you can’t be surprised anymore by a client request, something proves you wrong. And the boundary between normal and “Wait…what?” moves a few inches. Or off a cliff.
Olivia Ferney, aka Travel with Livii, and luxury real estate agent Dina Goldentayer recently collabed on a series of Instagram reels based on an “unconventional request” from a client.
Of course, this naturally invited a flood of comments from agents who’ve been in similar situations.
Read on for details on Liv and Dina’s collab and how agents reacted to it.
When Your Client Demands to Spend the Night in a $45M Listing
It all began with a reel where Olivia’s client is making her request during a phone call.

If you don’t want to watch the full clip, here’s the recap: the client asked the agent to spend the night in a $45 million Miami property to really “feel” the home. The prep list included a sound bath upon arrival, a fridge stocked with only white and light-colored foods, the entire house saged, and all of her personal soaps placed throughout the property.
Next up, Liv calls Dina to pass on the request with a good news/bad news pitch. Dina sounds genuinely taken aback by the request, but she doesn’t shut it down. After hearing the name of the buyer client and briefly looking her up, she agrees to bend her usual rules and goes all in.

The third collab reel shows Liv and Dina setting up the house for the sleepover client, complying with every request to the letter.

Full disclosure, we’re not sure how much of this was staged, but have to admit it was a genius collab that got plenty of eyes on the luxury listing.
Agents Shared Stories in the Comments
After seeing these reels, we had to ask:
“What’s the most unconventional or insane request you’ve ever seen from a client?”
Apparently, this is something of a rite of passage for real estate agents. And while a few commenters said the buyer’s sleepover request wasn’t all that crazy, some suggested adding a condition or two to prevent potential damage to the seller’s property.
Here’s just a sampling of what they said:
