You know how powerful Instagram can be for your real estate business.

But, let me remind you of one very important detail—you do not own your Instagram follower list. So, it’s important to invite your followers over to your party in the email list!

There are several ways to build an email list, but today, I’m going to focus on creating a call to action (CTA) that help you convert your IG followers into email list subscribers.

Keep reading for three simple tips to get more real estate leads online by building an email list your audience is anxiously waiting for.

#1—Don’t be boring with your incentive

Offering an incentive is a great way to draw potential subscribers to your email list. But it has to be something your audience actually wants.

Incentives can come in many forms, including:

  • Exclusive access to a new listing
  • Partner with local contractors or businesses for discounts on home improvement projects
  • A free guide or resource for home buyers or sellers

If you opt for a free guide, think of something valuable that your audience can’t find with a simple Google search. For example, a local holiday guide with all of the special events and shopping in your city for the holidays. If you partner with local businesses, you can even include some discount codes for their products or services.

#2—Don’t keep it a secret

Once you have a valuable incentive for your audience, make sure you let everyone know about it!

Create posts surrounding the topic of the incentive to create curiosity and encourage your audience to sign up for them.

For example, if your incentive is a New Construction Guide, create content about new construction projects in your market or highlight the homes of local builders. Then, remind your audience to grab your download through the link in your bio at the end of your post.

#3—Create valuable emails that your audience anxiously waits for

Once you have an email list, it’s important to ensure you continuously provide value through your emails. In our Coffee & Contracts email newsletters, we knew we wanted to add something valuable that our audience looks forward to receiving each week. So, we provide three Reel ideas or trending audios that agents can use every week (plus a ton of great marketing tips and tricks).

What’s something of value you can add to your emails each week? You could provide local events happening in your market each week, market updates, restaurant specials, etc. If you’re stuck for ideas, you can also create a poll to find out what your audience wants more of. Then, let your audience know what they’ll be receiving and how often.
